Analysis of slip transfer and deformation behavior across the α/β interface in Ti-5Al-2.5Sn (wt.%) with an equiaxed microstructure

► Slip transfer (ST) across the α/β interface was investigated in Ti-5Al-2.5Sn (wt.%). ► ST was characterized using metrics in order to understand α/β deformation. ► Most interfaces in Ti-5Al-2.5Sn do not have the Burgers' orientation relationship. ► An α/β interfacial region was observed in samples regardless of their prep methods. ► Microcracks nucleated in some areas of interfacial regions in acid etched samples.
