Creep behaviour of Mg-8% Sn and Mg-8% Sn-3% Al-1% Si alloys

► Creep resistance of Mg-Sn alloy increases with Al and Si addition. ► Mg2Si is responsible for retarding grain boundary movement during creep. ► Creep resistance drastically reduced with increase in applied stress. ► Total creep life is significantly reduced with increase in applied stress.
