Room and elevated temperature mechanical properties in the as-extruded Mg-Al-Ca-Mn alloys

► High strength Mg-Al-Ca-Mn alloy has been developed as an automotive engine part. ► Fine precipitates are found in dynamically recrystallized and the other regions. ► Room and high temperature mechanical properties have been evaluated. ► Occurrence of twinning during compressive test is confirmed. ► Crystallographic orientation after extrusion has been identified.
