Characterization of nanostructured high nitrogen Fe-18Cr-xMn-4Mo austenitic stainless steel prepared by mechanical alloying

► High nitrogen Fe-18Cr-xMn-4Mo austenitic stainless steel can be produced by MA and without annealing. ► By decreasing the amount of Mn, absorbed nitrogen content is increased. ► Decreasing Mn and increasing nitrogen content cause improvement in PREN value.
