High temperature tensile properties of in situ TiBw/Ti6Al4V composites with a novel network reinforcement architecture

► The 3D hierarchical branched TiBw and claw-like TiBw structures are reported for the first time. ► The maximum service temperature of the prepared composites can be increased from 400 °C to 600 °C. ► A superior network boundary strengthening mechanism is introduced for the first time.
