Up-scaled equal channel angular pressing of AA6060 and subsequent mechanical properties

► ECAP tests were carried out on an AA6060.35 alloy at 150 °C and at room temperature. ► 3-6 passes were done before severe cracking appeared at the specimen surface. ► The material consisted of fragmented grains, with shear bands in different directions. ► Higher strengths (45-75%), compared to commercially produced AA6060.35 alloy. ► The highest nominal yield strength of 324 MPa was obtained at room temperature.
