Microstructure characterization and mechanical properties of TiB2/TiAl in situ composite by induction skull melting process

► ISM process is feasible to fabricate high-quality in situ TiB2/TiAl composite. ► The morphologies and growth mechanism of TiB2 crystals were investigated. ► Current TiB2/TiAl composite has much better tensile properties than its matrix.
