Microstructure and mechanical properties of a copper containing three phase titanium alloy

► A new copper containing titanium alloy, Ti-6Al-1.5V-2.5Cu, was melted by vacuum arc melting and successfully processed to get rolled plates. This alloy is a modification of Ti-6Al-4V. ► Refinement in structure was achieved through addition of copper ► Improvement in strength was observed following the addition of copper.
