Microstructure characteristics and mechanical property of aluminum alloy/stainless steel lap joints fabricated by MIG welding-brazing process

► Wrought aluminum and stainless steel was joined with welding-brazing process. ► Effect of different layers on spreadability of molten filler metal was examined. ► Mechanical property of the joints with different heat inputs was investigated. ► Microstructure of the joints were also studied by OM, SEM and TEM. ► Phase composition was ascertained by diffraction spot and XRD analysis.
