Effect of thermal exposure on the room temperature tensile properties of Grade 2 titanium

▶ Investigation of heat treatment on α-stabilisation and tensile properties of titanium. ▶ α-regions cracks very early during tensile deformation. ▶ α-regions make a negligible contribution to the load bearing area of the tensile sample. ▶ High temperature heat treatment results in changes other than a loss of load-bearing area.
