Giant magnetoelectric effect in mechanically mediated composite structure of TbFe2-Pb(Zr,Ti)O3-TbFe2 with two nonmagnetic flakes

► The ME coupling is achieved by end bonding instead of interface bonding. ► A giant ME coefficient as high as 15.2 V cm−1 Oe−1 is obtained. ► The ME effect is influenced by structural parameters.
