Optical properties of BeO nanotubes: Ab initio study

► It is found that all the nanotubes are anisotropic along these two polarizations. ► By increasing diameter of nanotubes the adsorption peaks shifted to higher energies. ► The optical properties of zigzag double wall nanotubes is different with single wall.
