Imaging properties and negative refraction of the metallic photonic crystal at near-infrared frequency

► Light imaging and negative refraction are achieved in near-infrared metallic photonic crystals. ► Light imaging at 1550 nm is obtained through design of the lattice constant and the permittivity. ► The absorption of the metal is trivial to debase the near-infrared image spot's quality.
