Electrical transport and anomalous structural behavior of α-Eu2(MoO4)3 at high temperature

► New properties of Eu2(MoO4)3 are discovered, dependent on temperature and pressure. ► Transport properties at different temperatures show three different conduction mechanisms. ► In the intermediate range, the dominant mechanism is due to the overlapping of large polarons. ► It is correlated with an anomalous thermal dependence of the cell parameter a. ► Transversal displacements of one type of oxygen in bridges would explain this anomaly.
