The theory of cylindrical photonic wires

► Waveguides made from 3d photonic crystals were considered. ► Tubes with circular and square cross-sections (wires) were considered. ► Rough limits were set on design parameters for the photonic crystal and wire size. ► Density of States for photons was presented. ► Would be useful for photonic circuits.
