The formation of regular αNi-γ(Ni31Si12) eutectic structures from undercooled Ni-25 at.% Si melts

► Solidification velocity is exceptionally low (<0.02 m s−1 at ΔT 160 K). ► No indication of direct solidification of βNi3Si at any undercooling studied. ► Viscous and nucleation resistant melt, indicating structure in liquid.
