Friction and wear properties of Fe-Si intermetallic compounds in ethyl alcohol

► αFeSi2/Si3N4 and αFeSi2/Si3N4 tribopairs showed low friction in ethyl alcohol. ► αFeSi2/SiC tribopair also showed low friction in ethyl alcohol. ► Fe-Si specimens showed the highest hardness of all the Fe-Si specimens.
