Structural, magnetic and thermal properties of intermetallics Nd3Fe27−xCoxV2 (x = 0, 2 and 4) and their hydrides

► In this paper we report for the first time the successful synthesis of Nd-Fe-Co-V intermetallics and their hydrogenation. ► A complex characterization of their structural, magnetic and thermal properties was carried out using X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy and thermal analysis by simultaneous DSC-TGA. ► These intermetallics were found to be extremely promising candidates for hydrogen storage.
