Performance of carbide tools with textured rake-face filled with solid lubricants in dry cutting processes

► Surface texturing was made on the rake face of the WC/Co carbide tools. ► The cutting performance of the textured tools was improved compared with that of the conventional one. ► It is suggested that rake-face texturing is an effective way to decrease friction of the carbide tools.
