On the thermal residual microstresses in WC–Co hard metals

The formulae for calculation of thermal residual microstresses on the surface and in the center of a WC–Co hard metal sample are given. The theoretical results are in good agreement with experimental values measured by X-ray diffraction and neutron diffraction methods.
