Study on electron field emission enhancement from nitrogenated carbon nanotips synthesized by plasma-enhanced hot filament chemical vapor deposition

► Nitrogenated carbon nanotips were synthesized by plasma-enhanced hot filament CVD. ► The electron field emission from NCNTPs with different structures was measured. ► The smooth NCNTPs exhibit better EFE characteristic. ► The work function of carbon nanotips is reduced after incorporation of nitrogen.
