Preparation and oxidation of an Al2O3-modified aluminide coating

► An Al2O3-dispersed β-NiAl coating was fabricated using pack cementation methods at 1100 °C for 4 h. ► The Al2O3-dispersed β-NiAl coating exhibited a superior isothermal oxidation resistance. ► Adherent scale formed when the β-NiAl coating was dispersed with Al2O3 nanoparticles.
