Characterization of scatterers for an active focal plane Compton polarimeter

► We characterized different scattering and wrapping materials. ► We measured the tagging efficiency of the Compton scattering process in the laboratory set-up. ► We performed Montecarlo simulations of the laboratory set-up and of the active focal plane Compton polarimeter design. ► We evaluate the sensitivity of an active focal plane Compton polarimeter.
