Pseudocolours for thermography—Multi-segments colour scale

• This paper proposes multi-segments colour scale for thermography.
• Multi-segments colour scale uses handle and handle pair to divide itself into segments.
• Multi-segments colour scale permits separate colouring on bands of temperatures.

Separate colouring on a band of temperatures can improve the usage of thermogram. We propose multi-segments colour scale (MS scale) to provide the utility for separate colouring. MS scale uses handle and handle pair to divide itself into segments. Each segment then generates a colour sequence according to the colours selected at the handle/handle pair. With the use of colour handle and handle pair, MS scale can produce a variety of colour scales, and enable specific colouring on bands of temperatures.
