Magnetocaloric effect in Gd(Pd1-xRhx)

In this paper we calculate the magnetocaloric effect in the compound Gd(Pd1-xRhx) by using the Heisenberg Hamiltonian where the indirect exchange interaction parameter between localized spins depends on the Rh concentration and the spin-spin interaction is treated in the molecular field approximation. The calculated adiabatic temperature changes upon magnetic field variations are in good agreement with the available experimental data.
