Oxidative injury is involved in fipronil-induced G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis in Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) cell line

► Fipronil (FPN)-induced dose- and time-dependent inhibitory effects on Sf9 cells. ► PFN-induced G2/M phase arrest related to increased OH, depleted GSH and ATPase. ► FPN-induced an overproduction of ROS contributed to the apoptosis of Sf9 cells.
