The High Mobility Group A proteins contribute to thyroid cell transformation by regulating miR-603 and miR-10b expression

► HMGA overexpression is causally involved in neoplastic transformation. ► The HMGA proteins regulate negatively miR-603 and positively miR-10b expression. ► miR-10b targets the PTEN gene, whereas miR-603 targets CCND1 and CCND2 genes. ► Functional studies show that these microRNAs affects cancer cell proliferation and migration.
