چکیده انگلیسی

The aim of present study was to investigate the impact of various excipients (oil type and nonionic surfactants) having same composition on physicochemical characterization and dissolution of glibenclamide (GBN) from self-emulsifying formulations. Most of the formulations prepared using Labrafil M1944CS and Peceol as oil phase were found to be suitable for self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) of GBN. However, formulations prepared with Labrasol, Gelucire 44/14 and Tween 80 (as surfactants) were found to be suitable for SEDDS only whereas those prepared with Cremophor EL and HCO 60 were found to be suitable for self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) as well as for self- microemulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDDS) of GBN with respect to Labrafac PG. The in vitro drug release studies indicated that optimized formulation showed 99.2 % of drug release as compared to other formulations after 60 min of study. Overall, these results indicated that HCO 60 could be the best surfactant for self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery of GBN with respect to Labrafac PG.
