Identification of group A beta hemolytic Streptococcus strains in Brazil

Despite the high incidence of RF and the prevalence of RHD in Brazil, the Streptococcus strains more prevalent in our country were not identified. Aiming to have a better epidemiological characterization of the most prevalent strains in Brazil, in the present work we isolated streptococcal different strains from random samples from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) cities using emm genotyping.
