At the present time, vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) outbreaks are an emergent issue in France. Thus, appropriately managing VRE when it does occur in a ICU and preventing spread of this multiresistant bacteria to other individuals are crirical and the main principles are presented in this technical note.
