Nouveaux moyens diagnostiques de la cirrhose

During last years, new noninvasive methods of liver fibrosis assessment have been developed. These measures are based on two principles. Transient elastography measures the shear wave in the liver and enables the estimation of liver stiffness. Laboratory tests combines several biochemical markers of fibrosis and non fibrosis. Owing to their excellent diagnostic performance, the Haute Autorité de la Santé (HAS) has recommended to perform two tests (FibroScan® and FibroTest) for chronic untreated hepatitis C patients with no comorbidities. These tools could even be a reliable method for the prediction of clinically significant cirrhosis complications. Combination of these tests could allow a better real time follow up. In a closer future all kinds of chronic hepatopathy could be monitored thanks to these methods.
