Anesthésie locorégionale en urgence

Regional anesthesia techniques present many advantages for emergency surgery. They improve analgesia at rest and on mobilisation as compared to intravenous opioids. They also improve patient's comfort and simplify the cares provided by the paramedical team. Finally, they avoid some side effects of general anesthesia such as myorelaxant allergy, difficult intubation risks and controlled ventilation. The aim of the present article is to review the different regional anesthesia techniques useful in emergency conditions and how to perform them.
