Cleidocranial dysplasia: A case report

Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a very rare congenital malformation syndrome that has an extremely varied presentation. This condition not only affects the membranous bones (e.g., clavicles, skull, flat bones) but it also affects endochondral ossification, leading to a generalized disorder of the skeletal structures. Despite its global skeletal manifestations, CCD tends to cause the greatest abnormalities within the skull, spine and dentition of the individuals affected. This article reports on a rare case of cleidocranial dysplasia in an otherwise healthy 18-year-old female.
