Implementation of a Comprehensive, Unit-Based Protocol for Prevention of Neonatal Catheter Associated Blood Stream Infections

Through implementation of the CUSP initiative, heightened awareness of the shared responsibility for safety processes required for elimination of NCABSI was shared among nursing team members. By adapting a culture of safety, we were able to achieve a fivefold decrease in the rate of NCABSI.
