LIVE! From the Sim Lab: Broadcasting a Simulated Patient–Care Scenario as a Teaching–Learning Strategy in a Nursing Fundamentals Clinical Lab

At one baccalaureate program, the faculty and staff feel strongly that simulation experiences are such an effective teaching–learning strategy that they warrant inclusion in the very first clinical nursing course, an on-campus weekly 2-hour Fundamentals of Nursing lab experience. The innovative use of real-time broadcast technology and simulated patient care scenarios has proved to be a winning combination for these novice nursing students and at the same time has made optimal use of limited lab time and resources. LIVE! From the Sim Lab was highly effective in demystifying the simulation experience for students and introducing them to the patient care scenario format for practice and evaluation.
