Hypertension can have its origin at the developmental age. With insufficient control of arterial pressure organic complications can occur very early. Therefore appropriate control of blood pressure in children and youth is a very important element of physical examination. Measurement and interpretation difficulties of the obtained blood pressure values can be related the lack of manometers with exchangeable cuffs as well as the appropriate norms for a given population group. The aim of the paper is to present a case study with aggravating results of medical nephrological interview and lack of the blood pressure control. In the described case the aggravating medical interview (recurrent infections of the urinary tract, bladder-ureter refluxes), incomplete diagnostics as well as the insufficient control of the blood pressure contributed to the changes within bodily organs. After the administered treatment normalization of the arterial pressure values has been observed. Both the fixed hypertension and the accompanying changes within the bodily organs were diagnosed too late, which is related to the insufficient control of the arterial pressure at the developmental age. Appropriate control of the arterial pressure conducted from the earliest possible age turns out to be of basic importance both in prevention and treatment of hypertension. It enables to identify the people with subclinical changes at the early stage and to introduce the primary prevention of the complications within the cardiovascular system at the adult age.
