RETRACTED: Analysis of Compression Forces Between Varying Sizes of Cannulated Screws versus Rail External Fixation for Treatment of Jones Type Fifth Metatarsal Fracture

Then, after learning that one of the listed authors had not consented to inclusion of his name, and that this same author had not participated in writing the manuscript that was submitted for peer review and editorial consideration, the journal published an erratum in Volume 47, Number 6 (November/December 2008) of The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, pointing out this matter. Since that time, moreover, the authors' institution convened a Presidential Inquiry Committee to investigate allegations of research misconduct related to the submitted manuscript and the article that the journal published. That committee concluded that research misconduct had taken place, and the committee has since demanded that the journal retract the article. After further investigation and discussion with the corresponding author, the journal has determined that the author is not able to reproduce the data upon which the results and conclusions were based. For this reason, the journal has decided to retract the article. Therefore, the present published article is henceforth retracted.
