Cardiovascular and vasoconstrictive actions of skate bradykinin in the little skate, Leucoraja erinacea (Elasmobranchii)

► We examine the cardiovascular actions of bradykinin (BK) in elasmobranchs. ► We demonstrate an in vivo vasopressor response to homologous BK in the little skate. ► We demonstrate non-responsiveness to mammalian derived antagonists and agonists. ► We examined the role of potential cellular mediators of the response in vitro. ► We found that multiple pathways may be involved in mediating the BK response.
