In cases of infectious aneurysms of the internal carotid, surgical correction appears to be the best option and the preferred method involves the use of an autologous graft for the revascularisation of the carotid that has undergone surgery. If this should become thrombosed, possibly due to the infectious process itself, it is replaced by cryopreserved artery and rotation of the sternocleidomastoid. Because it is an infected territory, it is advisable to avoid the use of prosthetic material.
