Optimal Size of a Monocusp Patch for Reconstruction of a Hypoplastic Pulmonary Root: An Experimental Study in Pigs

A monocusp patch for reconstruction of a hypoplastic pulmonary root results in significantly less regurgitation than a nonvalved patch of the same size, while the peak pressure gradient remains normal. The lowest regurgitation fraction was observed with a monocusp patch two-times the length of the circumference of the hypoplastic pulmonary root.
