چکیده انگلیسی
Therapies that inhibit matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) are thought to be new clinical interventions because MMPs have been found to function as participants in atherosclerosis. We confirmed that Ginkgo biloba extract elicits antiatherogenic effects by modulating lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1-mediated pathways, resulting in the suppression of reactive oxygen species generation and, ultimately, the inhibition of MMPs in human umbilical vein endothelial cells exposed to oxidized low-density lipoprotein. Our findings suggest that Ginkgo biloba extract is a potential preventive agent against the development of cardiovascular diseases.
