Capsule Endoscopy

Technologic advancement in visualization of small bowel with wireless capsule Endoscopy (CE) has created means of diagnose various diseases. CE has proved superior to other diagnostic facilities such as push enteroscopy and radiological studies. It has a definite role to identify and site of lesion in obscure gastrointestinal bleeding. CE has a multiplicity roles in patients with small bowel tumors, Crohns and Celiac disease. Its role is yet to be defined in patients of Chronic abdominal pain, tuberculosis and NSAID related injuries.
