L'observance à la pratique de l'autosurveillance glycémique

Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) is a key tool for achieving a good glycemic control in both type 1 and type 2 diabetic patients. However many patients do not practice it regularly. The aim of this paper is, first, to show the evidence from the literature that a number of diabetic patients do not practice self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) as frequently as they should do. On the other hand, to analyse this observation as a case of non-adherence to medical recommendations. This analysis should pave ways for overcoming barriers to SMBG.
