Hyperferritinémies non hémochromatosiques : caractéristiques principales et démarche diagnostique

The number of hyperferritinemia cases diagnosed in clinical practice is increasing; however very few correspond to a genetic iron overload. The authors describe the four main causes of hyperferritinemia: inflammatory syndrome, cellular lysis, excessive alcohol consumption and metabolic syndrome, with a particular emphasize on the examinations and parameters permetting to establish the etiological diagnosis of most hyperferritinemia cases.
