Une critique du concept de patient-éducateur

Obviously, patients have an unique expertise on their illness. It is tempting to propose that such an expertise can be utilized in the education of other patients. Thus, lay-led educational programmes have been developed, for instance in the United Kingdom. This article presents a critical appraisal of the concept of “Patient Educator”, based on an analysis of the very meanings of expertise, experience, and patient education.
