Pilot evaluation of a substance abuse prevention group intervention for at-risk bariatric surgery candidates

At-risk patients applying for weight loss surgery may benefit from a substance abuse prevention intervention. More research will be needed to see if such benefits can be sustained over time and if interventions affect postsurgical behaviors.
