Nuevos criterios de clasificación de artritis reumatoide

ResumenEn septiembre de 2010 publicaron los nuevos criterios de clasificación para la artritis reumatoide (AR) con la intención de permitir un diagnóstico precoz de ésta. Estos nuevos criterios van dirigidos a poder clasificar los pacientes con AR de forma más precoz de lo que permitían los criterios hasta ahora utilizados.Se comenta en esta revisión, la metodología utilizada para la creación de los nuevos criterios de clasificación, que ventajas aportan respecto a los antiguos, que carencias presentan y las consecuencias que tendrá la aplicación de estos nuevos criterios de clasificación.

In September 2010, new criteria for the classification of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were published, with the intention of allowing an early diagnosis of the disease. These new criteria are targeted to an earlier form of RA than allowed by the criteria that had been used up to that point.In this review we comment the methodology used for the creation of the new classification criteria, its advantages with respect to the older ones, its shortcomings and the consequences their application will have.
