Le mode de contact peut être direct, aéroporté, manuporté et même procuré. Ces différents modes de contact possible doivent être enseignés au patient avant le bilan pour poser les bons tests et après pour retrouver la pertinence de tests positifs. Les localisations principales sont le visage et les mains, avec les conséquences sociales que ça implique. Les listes d’ingrédients en code INCI sont un outil majeur pour faire l’éviction des allergènes des substances parfumantes chez le sujet sensibilisé.
