ResumenLa función renal se ve sometida a notables cambios, tanto anatómicos como fisiológicos, en la situación de embarazo en la mujer. La patología más frecuente es la infección del tracto urinario, si bien se pueden desarrollar situaciones de mayor entidad clínica y pronóstica como el deterioro de una enfermedad renal preexistente y la hipertensión arterial, o patologías específicas como la preeclampsia/eclampsia.

Renal function undergoes significant changes, anatomical and physiological, in the situation of pregnancy in women. The most frequent pathology is the urinary tract infection, although situations can develop greater clinical and prognostic entity as deterioration of preexisting renal disease and hypertension, or specific conditions such as pre-eclampsia / eclampsia.
