Protocolo de prevención de complicaciones en el paciente oncológico

ResumenDebido a la historia natural de la enfermedad, los pacientes oncológicos presentan una extrema fragilidad no sólo física sino también psicológica. Partiendo de esta situación de fragilidad, van a tener múltiples complicaciones a lo largo de la evolución de su enfermedad. El objetivo de este protocolo es resumir aquellas más importantes y explicar pautas sencillas para su fácil detección y solución. Es importante un manejo multidisciplinar con una visión holística del paciente que permita detectar y tratar lo antes posible los problemas psicológicos y físicos con los que el paciente va a encontrarse a lo largo de su enfermedad.

Malignant diseases produce not only physical but also psychological vulnerability, which increase the predisposition for the development of multiple complications. The aim of this protocol is to understand the importance of recognizing the most common complications that the oncologic patients could have. We also review some guidelines for the diagnose and the treatment of this situations. A multidisciplinary approach and a holistic view of the patient are really important for an early detection and management.
